Jose (Angel) Olivarez, a 2025 grad from Buena High School, immediately stood out at the Glendale Summer ID with his impressive athleticism and speed, running a 6.68 60-yard dash. In the outfield, Olivarez demonstrated his arm strength with throws clocked at 91 mph. This arm strength translated seamlessly to the mound, where he posted the top velocity of the day with a fastball sitting at 86-89 mph. Olivarez exhibited solid control, consistently throwing strikes. With further development of his secondary pitches, he is poised to become a high follow prospect in the 2025 class.

Jose Angel Olivarez, an outfielder from Buena High School, delivered a solid performance at the Summer Mesa ID, establishing himself as a standout in multiple categories. He clocked a 60-yard dash time of 6.68 seconds, showcasing above average speed, and recorded the top outfield velocity of 90 mph, showing off a powerful and accurate arm. CB: 67-69 mph. 12/6 action, through well for strikes, looks to slow arm speed down a touch on BB. T2351, 2257 average rpm.
