Sims is a sturdy-framed southpaw (5-foot-10, 214 lbs) who offers a mature presence on the mound with a clean, low-effort delivery, working through a low, even lift into an in-line move with a clean arm that operates from a consistent higher 3/4 slot. Sims worked his fastball in the 83–86 mph range (T86), showing occasional carry (T2064 rpm) and the ability to fill the zone. His 70–73 mph curveball showed solid shape with depth and above-average spin (T2213 rpm), and he mixed in a firmer 77 mph slider with tighter tilt. The 78–80 mph changeup was firm with minimal movement separation but thrown with solid arm speed. With four pitches and strike-throwing ability, Sims profiles as a durable, pitchable lefty with starter traits.
