1/27/19 Uncommitted 5’10 165-pound frame. Anderson is an intriguing athlete showcasing behind the plate and at SS, also hopping on the bump. At short, he was 87 MPH across the infield and showed good feet and rhythm for momentum to 1B. Behind the plate his pop time was 1.91-1.97 with good carry and a very quick release. His swing has a simple set up with movement and rhythm with his hands, getting into a good hitting position without much load into his lower half. Exit velo was 87 MPH. On the mound was 82-85 MPH, filling up the strike zone and varying timing to the plate. From the stretch, mainly went slide step and mixed in a breaking ball at 70-74 MPH.
10/14/18 - 5-foot-10, 160-pound, frame. Quick-twitch athlete. Our first look definitely leaves a positive impression. Offensively, the right-handed hitter starts from an open stance. Balanced throughout the swing. Gets stuck on back half at times, which limits present power; 83mph exit velocity. Showed well on defense, with athletic actions and a quick transfer/release. Anderson throws from a near sidearm slot with a whippy action and should profile very well defensively to 2B. It will be interesting to see if he can break into a loaded Hamilton infield this spring. Also posted impressive 6.82 60-yard dash. Offensive development will dictate what level prospect Anderson becomes.
