6’3 220-pound frame with strength throughout. Starts with a slightly open stance, hovering foot as he goes knee to knee for his stride. Showed major pop to his pull side and the ability to square balls up with authority the other way as well. He works into the zone early, allowing himself a large margin for error with timing. With current footwork, projects more as a 1B and will hit plenty enough to keep him there.
1/27/19 – Uncommitted. 6’3 220-pound frame. Hovers stride back towards rear leg before going forward. Gets foot down very early, sliding into front side. Needs to add rotation and continue momentum throughout swing. Bat speed and strength is present but still plenty more in the tank as sequencing cleans up. Hands tend to leak forward creating a pull approach even though direction is going through middle. 94 MPH exit velo. Showed awareness around 1B and good feet to get feet under him and in control on throws to 2nd and 3rd.Arm strength at 82 MPH across the infield from 1B.
10/14/18 - 6-foot-3, 220-pounds. His solid, proportional frame with sloped shoulders shows significant present strength and gives him a serious presence in the box. Rhythmic hitter. Glides into balls. Desiderio has some mechanical flaws that sap power, leaking his hands forward, instead of separating and uncoiling, but he was still able to make some hard contact and the power potential appears to be significant; 89 mph exit velocity. He will be an interesting follow this spring as he works to break into a loaded Hamilton lineup and showcase the raw power. Shows solid actions and footwork around the bag at first base and posted 80 mph infield velo. 7.50 60-yard dash.
