The Miami commit has long limbs, checking in at 6-foot-5, 175-pounds, making it even tougher on hitters from his low slingy arm slot. Poirier has made plenty of noise since he joined the Okotoks Dawgs. The BC native stands at 6-foot-4, 160-pounds and has plenty of upside. The arm is loose and whippy and he has a very low-effort delivery. The fastball sits in the 87 - 88 mph range, topping out at 89 mph. It has over 15 inches of HB and pairs well with his slider. It profiles more like a cutter at the moment, but works along that same horizontal plane as the fastball and is still an effective pitch. The sky is the limit for Poirier, with plenty of room to add strength and velocity. He will continue to have eyes on him as one of the top uncommitted arms in the country.
