Fall scrimmage vs Cardinal Newman - Pacific commit; continues to not be a real complicated assessment of Hill, he can hit and has a chance to be a physical and consistent middle of the order presence in the spring of his senior season and at the college level. Well above average bat speed but also possesses bat control and a discerning eye. Drives the ball from left-center to straight down right field line, hands work inside with a compact powerful stroke.

at Acalanes HS - Uncommitted; Big physical presence at the plate. Left-handed hitter hitterish presence and good bat speed. Showed a discerning eye but also ready to hit and has a good trigger. Went 1-for-2 and drove in a run. Did get a bit off balance and just might guess/cheat a bit in some counts. Has bat speed and power potential and also showed some contact skills that should allow him to be a consistent producer.

2/19/19

Uncommitted; He swings with bad intentions and does not hold anything back making it go a long way when he connects. Showed a good approach all day, especially against lefties which his home run came off against. Will need to watch his conditioning with a thick body, but the strength and bat speed are both there. Uses his lower half well in his swing and doesn’t have a ton of moving parts. Did foul off a lot of pitches, but that comes from the violence in his swing. If he wants to hit for a high average he will need to miss fewer pitches in the zone. Player comp for me is Willie Calhoun. This kid shouldn’t be uncommitted much longer and should be a force in the middle of the lineup for the Ugly Eagles. If he finds some consistency and continues to swing the bat like he did today going to be a big season.

8/25/18

PBR Northern CA Underclass Games - 5-foot-8, 195-pounds, thicker body type, stout and strong. Hill put up some of the more impressive metrics among outfielders at the event. Good rhythm in the batters box. Sets with high hands and loads with timing and fluidity and calm. Lower body stays beneath him and allows him to gets to and through the ball with a lively barrel. Ball leaves his bat well and there is some power in that swing and body, particularly to the pull side. Sees the ball well and had highly competitive at-bats, long at-bats and also showed he can use the opposite field. Would keep his name as a left-handed hitter to know of in the area. Defensively he has confidence and it shows as he approaches the ball, also possesses good glove skills. Ball comes out of his hand well. Chance to develop a well above average arm if he can gain some flexibility. Powerful young man and tenacious competitor.
