Ourique delivered a strong outing on the mound in the matchup with El Dorado. The right-hander tossed six innings while allowing just one hit and striking out five. Ourique controlled the game throughout the start, limiting traffic on the bases and keeping opposing hitters off balance across his six innings of work.
Ourique was masterful in this outing, going six innings on just 63 pitches. The fastball continues to play with some two-seam cut at times with more traditional four seam ride most of the time. He does a very good job of mixing locations and eye levels with the pitch inducing whiffs consistently. Was squared up three times resulting in fly ball outs. The slider is presently above average with sharp, tilting action as it enters the zone. The pitch does not miss up, ever. He keeps it below the belt and got six chases on it when he buried it in the zone. Ourique’s changeup continues to show development and his trust in it is evident as he threw it four times in two-strike counts getting two strikeouts with the pitch. The pitch falls off the table to left-handed hitters is a backfoot pitch to righties. Ourique has improved his physicality adding 15 pounds of muscle since the end of last summer. The future Oregon Duck is going to get looks for this upcoming MLB Draft for sure, and when he’s eligible after pitching at Oregon he’ll have plenty more.

The newly uncommitted Ourique had yet another outstanding performance on the Prep Baseball stage with the righthander flashing his high level pitchability and strike throwing ability to go with upward trending stuff. Ourique retired the first five hitters he faced on under 15 pitches allowing him to face one extra hitter. Over his six batter outing Ourique showed off an upward trending FB that now reaches 91.3 MPH while sitting at 89-90 MPH that has both ride and run in the shape with spin rates above 2300 RPMs. Ourique features one of if not the most deceptive CHGs in the 2026 class which he throws at 79-80 MPH while getting fade to this arm side with tumble vertically to induce whiff from both RH and LH hitters. The SLD for Ourique like his FB has ticked up now being thrown at 73-76 MPH and averaging nearly -13" of horizontal break and over 2500 RPMs of spin. He induced soft ground ball contact for four of his outs and struck out one hitter with no balls leaving the INF in his first five hitters. A starter profile with high level pitchability and a pitch arsenal that continues to get better Ourique has an intriguing ceiling which has showed consistently.
A regular starter for Gahr, Jake Ourique surprisingly came out of the bullpen in the second round of the CIF-SS playoffs, entering in the 4th inning and immediately making his presence felt. The junior LMU commit delivered a dominant relief performance, throwing a hitless outing that featured 6 strikeouts and completely shut down Etiwanda’s offense after jumping to a 5-1 lead. Building off his first-round start, where Ourique went 6 innings with 8 strikeouts and just 1 hit allowed, the LHP once again flashed his advanced four-pitch mix: fastball, curveball, slider, and changeup. His fastball had late arm-side run, almost mimicking a two-seam with the way it got in on hitters and produced soft contact. The curveball served as a sharp, go-to secondary pitch, and when paired with his deceptive changeup and occasional slider, it kept hitters off balance and chasing outside the zone. What stood out most was his ability to command the zone and work ahead in counts with confidence. He looked completely in control from the moment he stepped on the mound, showing the same poise and presence that made him one of Gahr’s most trusted arms all season. Despite not getting the start in this crucial second-round matchup, Ourique showed exactly why he's viewed as a top-tier arm in the 2026 class, mixing quality stuff with mature mound presence and a competitive edge.
Ourique delivered a strong outing on Tuesday, striking out five over four innings while touching 91 mph with his FB against No. 1 Corona. The LMU commit has been a key presence on the mound this season, posting an impressive 1.15 ERA and continuing to showcase why he is a rising ‘26 arm for Gahr.
