11/2/16

6-foot-1, 165-pound, average athletic frame, is wiry strong, with plenty of room to fill out and to get stronger. A right-handed pitcher who works from the stretch position. The hands come set just above the waist and have a little upward movement to them with his quick leg raise. The leg raise has a small coil at its peak, direction is inline and gets squared up on release. The stride has length and gets out front on release, works downhill. The fastball was clocked at 76-80 mph, with more 80’s. The arm action is a little longer on the backside, arm continues to move throughout, shows to have some hand speed on release, ball comes out of a ¾ slot. The fastball is heavy, worked down in the zone, located it well to both sides. The breaking ball got to 71 mph, it's hard and with tight rotation, with this pitch being thrown with good velocity, confident the fastball will climb at some point. The changeup was clocked at 66-67 mph, needs to get more feel, tends to drop arm at times with this pitch. Times to the plate were ok at 1.50, worked fast and was aggressive attacking the catcher. The bloodlines are very good, older brother pitches, velocity is well above average. Shows potentially to throw harder, command has gotten better over time. Good follow for me.
