CIF, a Duke recruit, flashed big power in BP. He loads with a leg kick and has quick bat speed. He hit a ball out of the park, just right of center field and then hit one off the wall in right-center field.
2/9/19
6-foot, 210-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Ran a 6.95 on the laser at the event. The catching skill set is very good for just making the transition. The glove is soft and receives appropriately. The throwing and transfer is advanced at his age. Threw 82 mph down to second base with a pop time of 1.94. The throwing is easy and free. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 98 mph. The setup is wide in base, uses a knee to knee approach on the bottom half. The path is clean to the ball, slight lift at contact. The power potential is there as well as hitting for average. Excellent looking prospect who should be a good early pick in the MLB draft this June.
Tee Exit Velocity- 98 mph
Catching Velocity- 82 mph

8/5/16- Future Game Report
6-foot, 190-pound, very strong hands and lower half, the back and shoulders are wide, is put together well. A right-handed hitter who has strength in his swing. The stance is open with high hands, has a leg kick for timing and has an aggressive separation. Shows plus power to all fields, works from gap to gap. Collected a double and triple to center and right center. The tee exit velocity was 96 mph, ran a 7.01 60 yard, with a time of 4.44 down the line. Defensively, plays the hot corner, hands and feet work well, has a slightly longer arm path. The arm registered at 81 mph, should be a tick higher, has had a big workload throughout the year. On the mound, works from a high ¾ slot, worked downhill and pitched inside well to right-handed hitters. The fastball is 83-85 mph, needs to get some movement, tends to be straight at times. The breaking ball is much improved, clocked at 68-72 mph, has more of a 11/5 break. The changeup has proper spin and fade, didn't throw it in game, was a solid pitch in bullpen. A three pitch pitcher, who pounds the zone. Projects for me as a power hitting corner outfielder at the next level, with ability to help off the mound.
4/10/16 - Knight has a strong, athletic build at 6 feet, 180 pounds. He has a simple, repeatable delivery and his arm works out of a natural 3/4 slot. He stays in line and gets square to the plate on release. His fastball has been 84-86 and he has much more in the tank. He pounds it to the glove side and works down in the zone. His changeup has proper fade to his arm side and he’ll throw it in any count. His breaking ball is a spike curveball, thrown in the high 60s. Offensively, he hits from the right side with an open stance. He drives the ball to all fields and shows good power in the gaps. At the hot corner, his hands are soft and his arm shows solid carry, though he needs to keep his feet moving. Knight played on the Westport Little League team that lost in the U.S. final in 2013.
