Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Christopher Cupo: C/RHP, (2024) Academy of Information Technology and Engineering, CT. 6-foot, 180-pound strong long frame. Above average in the box, Cupo's best exit velocity was 85 mph. (63.8 mph bat speed average). (19.3 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled tight load, then used a small stride. Has quick bat speed, level loose swing plane and good extension on his front foot finish. He found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Pull side approach. While catching, his best position velocity throwing to second was registered at 68 mph; shows smooth consistent feet, soft twitchy hands, and a clean transfer. he produced a pop time of 2.19-2.37. Some flexibility and staggered wide setup. Showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a short arm action and a high ¾ slot. Clocked a 60 time of 7.4 at the event. Projectable on the mound, used a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle while showing quick arm speed. Stretch only up-tempo type pitcher and uses easy effort. Displays in line shoulders and a strong balance point. Lands soft with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 70-75 mph; shows both sides of the plate control with straight movement. (Max spin 1985; Avg 1678). Shows slurvey action and glove side control on his 1/7 curveball (63-64). (Max spin 1354; Avg 1299). His changeup (64-66) shows arm side control and fading swing and miss action.

5-foot-11, 186-pound mature, solid, projectable frame. Capable on the mound, showed a short arm action and a ¾ arm angle with some arm speed Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Has even shoulder and strong balance point. Lands square with an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 67-72 mph; showed arm side command and sinking action. Showed in the zone control and early action on his 1/7 curveball 58-58 mph. His changeup 59-60 mph; shows fading action and in the zone command.
9/27/20
5-foot-7, 170-pound, think athletic frame, showing strength throughout. A right-handed pitcher, who threw the baseball well in his outing, has made a jump from last event. Working from the set position, has a higher hand set in gather position, small drift, inline stride to the plate. The front arm can stay online a tick longer, drops off on release. The arm action is super short on the backside, clean, working from his ear, out of a 3/4 slot. The fastball was clocked at 71 mph, with arm side run to it. Also dropped in a slurvey breaking ball at 62-64 mph. Pounded the zone with a solid two-pitch mix. Will need to add strength.
1/20/20
5-foot-7, 170-pound, thicker athletic durable frame for a pitcher. Well proportioned, will need to add strength as he physically matures. A right-handed pitcher, works from the stretch the entire time. The hands start and stay high, stays tall, over the back side, glides out to foot strike, direction is inline. The arm path is extremely short, pulls right out from glove, more of a catcher slot. Showed the ability to locate to glove side with four seamer, fastball clocked at 68-69 mph. Still young, only threw a changeup at 59-64 mph, had cut action to it. A longer arm path, may help in more fade action to arm side. Overall conditioning along with a regimented throwing program will aid in a velocity jump.
