Second PBR event for Colton, showed well again, is very advanced behind the plate. The frame is a solid catcher’s frame, durable and very flexible. Does a tremendous job of receiving and blocking, gets behind the ball and anticipates very well with balls in the dirt. Pop times were 1.90 to 1.98 and throws are on the bag. The velocity was 73 on his throws, a tick lower from the first event. I’m sure he is tired, he has caught a great deal of innings throughout the year, arm needs a rest. At the plate, stance is very quiet, path to the ball is level and keeps the ball from gap to gap. Tremendous prospect, wouldn't be surprised if he was off the recruiting board sometime soon.

One of the better catchers in Connecticut. Showed very well at this workout, behind dish is very athletic, flexible and really works back there. The setup is balanced and is low to the ground, receives well and gets behind pitches, gives the ump a solid chance. Times down to second were 1.91-1.93, was 2.0 in game on the bag with life and carry to throws. Makes it look easy with no effort. The transfer and arm path are clean with no hesitation at all. At the plate, hits from the right side, the stance is wide and slightly open, hands are set just above shoulder height and the bat angle is in a good hitting position. Colton uses a small leg kick for his timing, gains ground with stride and gets something into the swing. The path is level, tee exit velocity was 84, hit one rocket after another in the game. The hands are loose and really work. The future is bright, he is already getting some interest from very good mid-major programs. Definite guy to go out and watch play, will appreciate what he can do.
