Gavin Carr: SS/2B, (2024) Southington High School, CT. 6-foot, 170-pound athletic strong build. Raw projectable at the plate, the right-handed hitter's 89 mph exit velocity ranks him 1st at the event. (64.6 mph bat speed average). (19.8 mph hand speed average). Started in an athletic closed stance with a wrapping load, then used a short stride. Bat speed was electric, used a loose upward swing plane and high finish. Through the round he found multiple barrels with tons of loud contact. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Above average while in the infield, made throws up to 77 mph; has athletic quick feet, a twitchy clean exchange, and soft hands. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a high ¾ slot and a loose quick arm action.

The arm swing is clean and free. Threw 58 mph across the diamond at the workout. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 64 mph. The setup is close with the feet, uses a toe tap as the ball approaches. The hands work freely, the path is flat and low through contact.
