6-foot-2, 206-pound catching prospect. During batting practice, Dording recorded an exit velocity of 85 MPH with a (66.8 mph bat speed average) and (21.0 mph hand speed average). He started in a balanced, athletic stance with relaxed hands. A short stride triggers a simple, flat swing that highlights Dording’s quick bat speed and good finish. He created some loud contact during his round and utilized a gap to gap approach. Behind the plate, Dording begins in a calm setup. The feet are square, with the chest tall and the eyes level. The glove sits relaxed in the center of the chest. As he transitions to throw, he shows throw downs to second topped out at 72 mph; has a fluid transfer, consistent smooth feet, and sure hands. The results were throw downs to second that topped out at 72 mph.
