Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 175-pound, lean athletic frame. A right-handed hitter, a taller stance, shows whip and life to the barrel, an all fields approach. Moves well in the infield, gains a good amount of ground, loose clean, quick arm 81 mph. Can play multiple positions.

6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder. The approach in the infield is solid as he moves through the baseball, throwing 75 mph. The glove showed to be solid and the hands work. The bat has an exit velocity of 93 mph. The setup is narrow in base and he gains ground as the swing is produced. The hands work and he shows a line drive approach, attempting to stay in the middle of the field.

Name: Jake Rios

Positional Profile: SS/RHP

Body: 6-foot-1, 175-pound, lean, athletic frame, with room for added weight gains. 

Hit: A RHH, shorter, slightly open, sits in a small crouch. The hands are loose at the shoulders, swing is fluid, and works through the zone with minimal effort. The approach is middle to pull side. 

Power: The exit velocity was clocked at 91 mph, showing enough pop to beat the outfielders.

Arm: The arm was clocked at 77 mph, arm action is short and loose, working from a ¾ slot. 

Defense: The glove is soft, moves well to both sides, good starts and turns around the bag. 

Delivery: The delivery is up tempo, lower frontside, with forward lean to it. 

Arm Action: the arm action is whippy and short from a ¾ slot. 

FB: The fastball was clocked at 77 mph, with some arm side run to it. 

CB: The breaking ball showed tilt and depth to it, at 68 mph. 

CH: Mixed in a fading changeup at 67-69 mph. 

ATH: Ran a 4.59 from home to 1st.

Jake Rios: SS/RHP, (2027) St Joseph, CT. 5-foot-11, 155-pound lean athletic frame. Raw projectable at the plate, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 83 mph. (63.1 mph bat speed average). (21.5 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a tight high load, then uses a short stride. Bat speed was quick, used a loose level swing plane and good extension on his finish. He found multiple barrels with loud contact. Up the middle line drive approach. Solid projectable in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 74 mph; has soft hands, athletic smooth feet, and a clean exchange. Fielded the ball out front with developing movement laterally. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot with a short arm action. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.3. Good looking young player, hands work at the plate.

Exit Velocity: 83 mph

Arm Velocity: 74 mph

Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.30
