He has some bat wrap with hands that start well above the shoulders. Generates good bat speed and with some pre-pitch wiggle with the hands. He posted an 86 MPH exit velocity. Gets whole body into the swing. Rips hips through. The swing can be a bit noisy with lots of moving parts. The swing has intent to do damage and he has gap-to-gap power right now. Proving the hit tool will be a big part of his 2018 campaign. On the defensive end, Grantmeyer put up pop times between 2.09-2.19 with an arm that was clocked at 73 MPH. Solid defensive skills with promise as a receiver. Soft hands and quick feet. Whippy arm action and quick twitch movements going from crouch to the chute. There is a lot to like behind the plate with room for growth.
