2.19.18

5-foot-6, 175-pound, strong, thick, durable athletic frame. The lower half is extremely strong, hands and wrists have strength to them.  A left-handed hitter, the stance is even, feet are slightly wider than shoulder width. The hands are strong and held at shoulder height. The swing is flat through the zone, has some lift to it at the end and finishes it above the shoulders. The approach is more middle to pull, could let the ball get deeper, easy fix with reps and practice. The tee exit velocity was clocked at at 80 mph, made hard solid contact in both rounds of batting practice. Ran the 30 yard dash in 4.21.  Defensively, arm was clocked at 60 mph, looks to open it early on the arm swing, path is slightly longer. Gets off the bag quickly, gains ground on throws and throws were on the proper side of the bag, starting the double play. Off the mound, the delivery is on time stride foot is in line, gets extension on release and uses the entire body to pitch the baseball, gets to a good gather and gets squared up on release of the baseball. Pounds the baseball in the zone, throws a ton of strikes. The fastball was clocked at 69-71 mph, is a heavy ball.  The changeup is his best pitch has feel and fade to it, clocked at 63-66 mph. The breaking ball is still a work in progress, opens early on the backside, creates difficulty getting fingers in proper position to break it off. Like the ability to barrel the baseball.
