5-foot-7, 160-pound, strong, compact athletic frame. The hands and wrists have strength to them, shoulders are squared off, back is wide, still has room for future development. A right-handed hitter who continues to impress and improve. At the plate, the hands start slightly lower, feet are even, has good separation and loades up well. The lower half is involved, uses a controlled higher leg kick, gains ground with it. The lower half provides pop to the swing. The swing is down to level to up, finishes with two hands at shoulder height. The barrel stays in the zone a long time, works the baseball to all fields. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 76 mph, has more in there. The barrel has life to it out front on contact. Ran the sixty yard dash at 7.44. Defensively, shows soft hands and good actions up the middle, projects more from the second base side. The arm action is super clean and short on the backside, arm was clocked at 66 mph. The feeds and footwork were accurate on both sides of the bag. Fielded the slower roller extremely well, comes through the baseball and throws off the proper foot. From the outfield, arm was clocked at 69 mph. The arm works out of a high ¾ slot, could soften the landed leg, to help get out front more. The transfer is quick, uses a shuffle for footwork. Projects for me as a second baseman, like the ability to handle the stick, good follow, good student.
Tee Exit Velocity: 76 mph
Arm Velocity: INF-66 MPH, OF- 69 MPH

5-foot-7, 160 pounds, lean, wiry, and athletic. Slight shoulder slope with potential to fill out upper body in the coming seasons. Posted a 4.35 home-to-first time. Offensively, Shand has a short, simple swing from the right side. He stands even in the box with feet that set shoulder width apart. The hands are loose, working from shoulder height. Shand has a small leg kick with a level bat path. Showed the ability to hit line drives to all fields during batting practices. Present gap-to-gap power. Posted an exit velocity of 77 mph off the tee. Collected a triple and single during in game at bats. Defensively, Shand has some upside at second base. His throws were clocked up to 65 mph across the diamond, something that needs to improve as he matures physically. Quick twitch movements laterally. Will need to work on footwork and double play turns to stick in the middle infield. A move to the outfield may be in his future, as he has the athleticism to potentially be a defensive asset in center field. Overall, Shand showed to ability to make quality contact throughout the afternoon, and is someone to monitor this upcoming season.
