As a hitter, he stands even in the box and and uses a minor leg kick to trigger the swing. The base is wide as his feet set more than shoulder width apart pre-leg kick. The hands work up by the shoulders away from the body. He has a level bat path, meant for line drives. His tee exit velocity was measured at 74 MPH. When on time, Nathanson showed an ability to hit to all fields. As a catcher, Nathanson showed good hands and should prove himself a useful receiver. He will need to clean up his footwork transitioning from the crouch into the chute, cutting out extra step(s) before the throwing. His pop time band sat between 2.38-2.47 with an arm velocity at 69 MPH. In the outfield, Nathanson releases the ball from a ¾ slot and his throws reached 73 MPH. Took solid routes to the ball and his throws exhibited carry. His arm strength should continue improving as he develops physically.
