2017 Futures Games

6-foot-1, 217-pound, thick, wide, large athletic frame. Pitched two solid innings, showing all three pitches. The delivery is simple, has an athletic leg raise, hands start and stay at the midsection. The separation is in the middle of his frame, slightly leans back in gather, direction is inline to plate. The arm action is down to up, clean on the back side and comes out of a ¾ to high ¾ slot. The fastball reached 85 mph, mostly in the 82-84 mph. The changeup is probably his best pitch, wasn't able to throw it a ton, it comes out of his hand just like fastball was clocked at 68-73 mph, had three swing and misses with it in crucial spots. The breaking ball has good spin, tilt and located for strikes and used as a swing in miss at times, clocked at 70-73 mph. The times to the plate were good at 1.18-1.21. Conditioning is a must, arm is clean, look for the velocity to climb by spring. Solid follow, has pitch-ability to him.

3/6/17
6-foot, 217-pound, wide, thick, lower half is strong, durable pitcher’s frame. The back is wide, shoulders are squared, plenty of room to get stronger. Showed extremely well at this event, was a pleasant surprise. The arm action is very clean, free and easy, short on the backside, ball jumps out of his hand. The delivery is sound, repeats it for the most part, has some effort to it, attacks the catcher and comes after the hitter. The hands start at the midsection, stay there throughout, direction is good and frontside is strong, gets out front on release. The fastball was located to both sides, clocked at 79-82 mph, with above average action to the armside, has a ton left in his arm. The changeup projects out to be his best pitch, hard to pick up out of his hand, spin is same as fastball, with action, was clocked at 72-73 mph with proper speed off the fastball. The breaking ball was 65-67 mph, showed to have proper spin, thrown for strikes, has plenty of depth and tilt to it. Times to the plate were at 1.66, needs to be quicker to the plate. Big time follow, continued conditioning will aid in his development, get out and see him this spring.
