Kevin Johnson: LHP/OF, (2026) Coventry, CT. 6-foot, 158-pound lean athletic frame. Raw projectable during batting practice, Johnson's best exit velocity was 84 mph. (70.4 mph bat speed average). (21.9 mph hand speed average). Began in a wide closed stance with a handsy load, then used a short stride. Bat speed was quick, showed a loose level swing plane and good extension on his finish. He found some barrels with loud contact. Pull side approach. Above average in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 81 mph; has quick aggressive feet, a clean exchange, and soft hands. Movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot and a quick loose arm action. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.4. Projectable on the mound, used a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle while showing quick arm speed. Stretch only up-tempo type pitcher and uses some effort. He has downhill in line shoulders and a strong balance point. Lands hard with an athletic falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 78-80 mph; showed arm side command and sinking action with heavy movement. (Max spin 2345; Avg 2270). Has swing and miss late action and down in the zone command on his 11/5 curveball (68-72). (Max spin 2305; Avg 2112). Tons of upside off the mound.
