7/27/16

5-foot-8, 145-pound, thin athletic frame, hands have some fast twitch to them, shoulders are sloped, neck is long, has plenty of room for future development. A switch hitter catcher, looks like he swings it equal on both sides. From the left side, hits from a small crouch, feet are inline and shoulder width apart. The lower half is under control and stride gains ground, uses his legs well. The hands are set just below the shoulders and has a direct path to the baseball. The tee exit velocity was 71 mph, from both sides. From the right side, it's the same stance, feet are shoulder width apart, gains ground with lower half, gets through the baseball better from left, cuts it off a little from right. Times down the line were good at 4.65. Defensively, is advanced with receiving and blocking skills. The setup is relaxed and flexible, the hands and feet work well together. The pop times were 2.15-2.23 and the arm was clocked at 67 mph, it's short and clean on the backside. Good looking young catcher, good follow.

10/11/15
A switch hitter catcher, the stance is balanced from both sides. From the left, needs a bit more load, path is good and stays on it well, hands work and are loose. From the right side, it’s simple, level and has a two-handed finish. The tee exit velocity was 68, ran a 4.60 down the line from the left side. Swung the bat well in the game, collected a hit, showed good sense of the strike zone and battled with all of his at bats. Behind the dish, showed good feel on receiving, transfer was clean, times to second were 2.20. The arm strength was 62 from home to first and 68 from the outfield. Needs to get around ball in dirt a bit more and deaden the ball. Overall showed very well, is young and has a young body, strength will come with time. The future is very bright, switch hitting catchers are hard to find.
