Max Jarvie: RHP/3B, (2024) Wilton, CT. 6-foot-3, 185-pound athletic mature build. Projectable and athletic during batting practice, Jarvie displayed an exit velocity of 93 mph, 3rd Highest at the event. (71.8 mph bat speed average). (24.3 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a wrapping load, then used a small stride. Bat speed is developing, shows an uphill loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. He found lots of barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Projectable and athletic while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 77 mph; has developing consistent feet, a clean natural exchange, and developing soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a high ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the bag. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.02. Projectable and capable on the mound, showed developing arm speed, he had a high ¾ arm angle with a short quick arm action. Up-tempo type pitcher and shows some effort. Has a consistent balance point and in line shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 82-83 mph; shows command arm side around the zone and running action. (Max spin 2117; Avg 1990). He showed slurvey action and glove side around the zone control on his tight slider (70-72). (Max spin 2167; Avg 1950).
10/24/21
6-foot-2, 185-pound, stronger, larger, athletic frame. Put together very well for a 2024, look for the frame to be advanced at some point. A right-handed hitter, at the plate, has a taller stance, even feet, loose relaxed hand set at the shoulders. The lower half is under control, small toe tap, gains ground, very good separation with hands, are back on foot strike. The approach is more middle of the field, gap to gap, has serious lift and height to the baseball. The swing has minimal effort to it, smooth and loose through the hitting zone. Shows natural raw power, the exit velocity was at 89 mph. Big follow for me.
