5-foot-11, 150-pound right-handed hitting infielder and pitcher. Ran a 7.11 sixty on the laser at the event. The actions were solid in the infield as the feet move well and he showed soft hands, second baseman in the future. Threw 68 mph across the diamond. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 79 mph. The setup is even in base, uses a knee to knee approach on the bottom half as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The backside has a small collapse to it. The path is clean, low 1-handed finish after contact. On the mound, the fastball sat 71-74 mph, minimal arm side action to the pitch. The spin is 63-65 and big in shape. The changeup is 65-66 mph, needs a spin fix. The delivery is online with the feet and the slot is above 3/4. The direction of the top half is appropriate and the arm works loosely. 5-foot-11, 145-pound, thin, athletic frame, shoulders are squared off, back is wider, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed hitter, at the plate, feet are even, slightly wider than shoulder width, hands and weight are loaded on the back side. The bat starts in a titled position, swing is down to level to up, creates lift and loft to the swing. The approach is more middle to pull, had a tee exit velocity of 80 mph with a ton more in there as he physically matures and adds strength. Ran a 4.53 on a dig to first base. Defensively, clean soft prep steps to the baseball, hands are soft, fields underneath, could get out front a tick more. The transfer is quick, feet move throughout. The arm works from a ¾ slot, clocked at 69 mph, good touch on all throws. The starts and turns from both sides of the bag were correct, better suited for the second base side. Off the mound, more of a whippy arm action, fastball clocked at 73-75 mph, with heavy sink to it, pounded for a ton of strikes. The breaking ball had more horizontal break to it 63 mph. The change up was thrown for strikes as well. Pitched a clean inning. Time will tell which way he goes, like the overall athletic ability. Continued strength training is a must.
