Devon Schmitt: RHP/1B, (2025) Oliver Wolcott Tech, CT. 6-foot-6, 185-pound projectable lanky frame. (70.2 mph bat speed average). (21.8 mph hand speed average). Begins in a tall stance with a controlled rhythmic load, then uses a toe tap stride. Bat speed was flashed, had a short swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found some barrels with some loud contact. Up the middle approach. Capable in the infield, his best throw was registered at 79 mph; has firm hands, consistent feet, and a clean exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a loose arm action and uninterrupted slot. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.14. Capable projectable on the mound, showed developing arm speed with a high ¾ arm angle and a consistent longer arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows some effort. During his delivery balance point is tall with uphill shoulders. Lands square with an athletic recoil finish. (Max spin 1984; Avg 1875).
