2028 P Jackson Salmieri (Fairfield College Preparatory, CT) possesses a tall, projectable 6-6, 215-pound frame. On the mound, his fastball sat 87-90 mph, topping out at 90 mph with a max spin rate of 2234 RPM, 16.3 inches of induced vertical break, and -10.1 inches of horizontal movement, showcasing power / firm velocity, carry / ride, and arm-side life. He mixed in a curveball at 70-73 mph with a max spin rate of 2565 RPM, -7.6 inches of induced vertical break, and 14.9 inches of horizontal movement, showcasing sharp, late-breaking action and 12/6 movement. He also featured a slider at 70-71 mph with a max spin rate of 2406 RPM, -15.8 inches of induced vertical break, and 14.6 inches of horizontal movement, showcasing two-plane break, tight spin, and sweeping action. 6-foot-4, 190-pound right-handed pitcher and right-handed hitting outfielder. The fastball sat 84-85 mph with minimal arm side run to the pitch. The slider was a good looking pitch, sitting 75-76 mph with depth to it. The changeup was 72-73 mph and showed fade to the pitch. The delivery was repeated and the arm works long/easy. The feet are online and he is aggressive with his arm.
Scouting Report: 6-foot-3, 175-pound, longer, lean athletic frame, with plenty of room for added weight gains. A right- handed pitcher. Shows a smooth repeatable delivery for a 2028. Working from the stretch position, higher, clean athletic lift, stays over the backside, works down hill. The arm action is clean on the backside, working from a high 3/4 slot, showing good extension out front on release. The fastball was clocked at 78 mph, lived in the bottom part of the zone. Showed good hand speed with slider, clocked at 71 mph. Mixed in a circle change, showing proper shape and action to it. Tons of projection, look for velocity to take a jump.
