6-foot-1, 185-pound frame with strength throughout. Allen looks like he’ll be a key returner for the Trail Blazers this season - coming off a year where he led the team in innings pitched (53.2). The loose and easy moving right-hander showed a mid-80s fastball that played straight out of the hand. He showed feel with both his off-speed pitches - a slider in the low-to-mid-70s that played with high spin (avg. 2692 rpm) and quality horizontal actions at the bottom of the zone (avg. -19.1” HM), and a change-up in the mid-70s with depth that worked the lower-half of the zone consistently throughout the ‘pen.
