There’s a lot to dream on in the 6-foot-7, 205-pound frame with plenty more room to add strength. He’s an easy and smooth mover that syncs well for his size, and his arm is clean with a higher ¾ release window. The fastball plays up and jumps out of his hand at 88-90, showing true sinker traits with over 18” of run at times and 6.6 IVB on average. Changeup looked to be his best secondary in this look, playing similar out of the hand to the fastball with run and killed spin, 81-82 mph. He returns 40 innings from a season ago.

Carter McKinney, RHP, Marshall County (KY), 2023 Uncommitted. McKinney owns one of the more intriguing frames on the Vols, standing at 6-foot-7, 205-pounds with plenty of room for added strength. His fastball sat in the mid-80s during his bullpen, playing with some carry and run. He also mixed in a slider that sat 76-78 mph, and a change-up that sat in the upper-70s with low spin.
