1/5/19 Lean 6-foot, 148-pound frame with athletic, wiry build and room to add strength and size. An unsigned senior, Rome showed polish with feel to pitch in his bullpen session. Strike thrower with solid three-pitch mix, and projection left to his frame. Left-handed pitcher with long, loose arm action into high-3/4 release with average arm speed and regular effort. Shows athletic delivery with smooth, fluid rhythm, level shoulders, in-line direction, lands square and finishes athletic. Pitched 79-80 mph with his fastball, showing slight run to the arm side, and ability to throw strikes to both sides of the plate. Breaking ball showed 2/8 shape with sharp break, tight spin, quality depth, and fastball arm speed at 70-71 mph. Also displayed quality feel for a changeup with late fading action, fastball arm speed, and deception at 74-75 mph.
