We last saw Babin on opening night against Parkview Baptist, where he went 1-2 with a 2B and a R, and he swung the bat well again last Thursday against Hahnville. The Nicholls State recruit did his best to keep Lutcher in the game during his last at-bat, when he came to the plate in the Top of the 6th with a runner on 1st and 0 outs down 4-1. Babin took the first pitch that he saw deep to RF for a no-doubt two run HR to cut the deficit to 4-3. He's a gritty type of player who can grind out at-bats and play solid defense in the outfield, which will hold value as he moves on to the Colonels program this coming fall.
