The uncommitted senior came up on the losing end of things on opening night, but he was still able to turn in a quality outing on the mound for the Eagles. Marien was once again a strike thrower with his FB 88 mph and sitting 82-85 throughout the night. The breaking ball will need some improvement moving forward, but at the end of the day he's an athletic throwing right-hander with a solid 6'2" 200 lbs. frame, and his best days likely lie ahead of him.

Body: 6-2, 200-pounds. Physical
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber, brings glove over head, stays there throughout an up-tempo delivery finishing on-line to his target
Arm Action: RH. Compact and clean arm path with a high 3/4 release
FB: T84, 84-84 mph. Had some life through the zone with a little run T2173, 2150 average rpm.
CB: 70-70 mph. "10-4" shape with more lateral break than depth, landed for strikes T2143, 2070 average rpm.
SL: 71-72 mph. Short and tight lateral break with little depth, landed for strikes and swing and miss T2130, 2125 average rpm.
CH: 76-78 mph. Downward sinking action T1306, 1296 average rpm.
ATH: 7.55 runner in the 60.

Hit: RHH. Starts in an open and upright stance, gets front foot down early with a simple load and stride Swings with soem intent, gets on-plane early and works uphill through extension, drove several balls to the pull-side showing some pop to that side of the field 63.5 mph bat speed with 17 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 89 max exit velocity, averaged 89 mph. 260' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-81 mph. Short arm action with a 3/4 release
Defense: Moved well for a physical frame, caught the ball out front clean, played with one hand when he needed to and showed a strong arm across the diamond
ATH: 7.55 runner in the 60.
