6/23/19:After red-shirting for Dallas Baptist this Spring, Baker has hit the ground running with Eau Claire. He is a tall and athletic 6-foot-3, 187 lb righty with a fastball that cruises from 92-96. He relies on this pitch heavily, and for good reason. Also showed good feel for a 79-81 curveball with good depth late when needed in his second outing of the summer. Loaded back into his backside from the stretch, he uses a quick leg kick and explodes down the mound. Baker rotates well and gets a lot out of his long levers, though there is more in the tank as he gains weight. Projects more as a reliever at this point, but could work into a starting role if he develops a third pitch to rely on. (DeGagne)
