Player Spotlight

Ben Waterman: RHP/SS, (2023) Milton Academy, MA. 6-foot-2, 186-pound lean athletic build. Above average and projectable on the mound, showed quick above average arm speed, also used a ¾ arm angle with a consistent loose arm action. Feel type pitcher who uses some effort. Displays in line shoulders with a consistent balance point. Lands closed with recoil finish. Threw his fastball 88-89 mph; had command arm side in the zone and running action with heavy movement. (Max spin 1836; Avg 1775). His changeup (77-78) has gradual fading action and arm side command. His sharp slider (76-78) had plus tight action and in the zone command. (Max spin 2117; Avg 1939).

2/23/20

6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder. He had an excellent showing at the event as he has turned himself into a legit prospect. He showed solid foot speed at the event. The approach in the infield is online and athletic. The glove and feet work appropriately. He threw 85 mph during the infield portion of the workout. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 90 mph. The setup is even in base, front foot open to start. The front foot closes down and he shows good life with his hands. The path is flat and he uses a 1-handed finish after contact. Good looking prospect.

Tee Exit Velocity- 90 mph

INF Velocity- 85 mph

5-foo-11, 158-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder and pitcher. Positionally, the foot work to and through the ball needs to smoothed out. The arm works and the movements are athletic. The glove is soft to the ball. Threw 71 mph across the diamond. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 83 mph. The setup is wide and open to start, front foot closes down as the ball approaches. The path is flat and clean to the ball. The hands work freely, and the frame can add weight and strength to it. On the mound, the fastball sat 70-73 mph. The breaking pitch is 60-61 mph, big in shape as it needs more fastball hand speed. The changeup is 64-65 mph, minimal action to it. The delivery has crossfire to the feet and the slot is above 3/4 due to posture issues and glove pull. The arm works but the front side is pulled off the target, causing the slot to go up in height. Would like to see his slot fall down into it's natural place and let his athleticsm take over.

Tee Exit Velocity - 83 mph
INF Velocity- 71 mph
