Brady DeBarge: RHP/SS, (2023) Pope Francis, MA. 5-foot-11, 155-pound lean athletic frame. Projectable at the plate, Debarge clocked an exit velocity of 81 mph. (66.02 mph bat speed average). (23.03 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a small load, then uses a short stride. Showed developing quick bat speed, uphill loose swing plane and high finish. He found some barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. He is athletic and capable in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 78 mph; shows a clean exchange, consistent athletic feet, and soft sure hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were developing. Decent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.81. Projectable on the mound, showing developing arm speed he used a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Feel type pitcher who uses some effort. Showed athletic balance point with in line shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 76-78 mph; has command around the zone arm side and slight running action. (Max spin 1980; Avg 1932). Shows glove side around the zone command and sweeping action on his curveball (63-65). (Max spin 1918; Avg 1918).
