Has quick developing bat speed, uphill swing plane and high finish. Through his round he found some barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Athletic in the infield, displayed a velocity of 70 mph; has athletic choppy feet, soft hands, and a clean exchange. Fielded the ball out front with developing movement laterally. Showed a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.6 60-yard dash. (Max spin ; Avg ).

Hit: (RHH) Raw. Started in a balanced stance with a low load, then used a short stride. Quick developing bat speed. High finish, uphill swing. Gap to gap approach.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity, average 80.12 mph. 63.20 mph bat speed average. 20.04 mph hand speed average.
Defense: (IF) Soft hands, athletic choppy footwork, clean exchange. Athletic. Laterally, movements were developing and fielded the ball out front.
Arm: 70 mph infield velocity. Loose arm action, high ¾ slot.
Speed: 6.60 (60-yard).
Cowperthwaite is a 5-foot-8, 150 pound right-handed hitting middle infield prospect. He hits out of wide set up, with the hands just off the back shoulder. The swing begins with a big leg kick and a pushing back of the hands. The bat-head gets on plane early and stays there through contact. Cowperthwaite showed quick hands and the ability to create carry to the pull side. His max exit velocity was 83 MPH.
Defensively, Cowperthwaite had a velocity of 70 MPH on his throws from the infield. The feet move well and get him into a fundamental fielding position. The glove is relaxed out front. He works through the ball nicely, showing soft hands as he transitions into the throwing position. The hips get in line with the target and remain over his feet. The arm-swing is short and he finishes through the play staying in line with the target.
