Colton Colleran: SS/RHP, (2023) out of Mashpee, MA. is a 5-foot-8, 155-pound two-way prospect. In the box, Colleran had an exit velocity of 84 MPH, with a (67.4 mph bat speed average) and (20.5 mph hand speed average). He begins in a balanced, wide stance with the hands relaxed just off the back shoulder. A controlled load and a short stride starts a swing that takes a simple, flat path through the hitting zone. In the infield, Colleran was 79 MPH on his throws across the diamond. As he progressed through the defense, he showed smooth, consistent feet, a clean exchange, and sure hands. On the mound, Colleran used a long, low ¾ arm slot to produce a fastball that sat 75-76 MPH (Max spin 1901; Avg 1852), with some late arm side run. His delivery is easy, simple and in line with the plate. He gets to a good position at the top before heading down the mound in line. He lands square and finishes over his front side. His curveball (62-64 MPH) (Max spin 1971; Avg 1700) has sweeping action and the changeup (64-65 MPH) has late fading action.

7/21/20

Colleran is a talented young 5-foot-8, 140 pound right-handed hitting infield prospect. He hits out of an even set up, with the hands just off the back shoulder. The load is controlled with a knee slide to shift the weight to the back leg. The bat takes a direct, flat path to and through the hitting zone, producing a max exit velocity of 80.2 MPH during the batting practice.

Defensively, Colleran was 68 MPH across the infield and showed athletic feet. He moves well and gets into a balanced fielding position. As he transitions through the ground ball, the hands are soft and the hips get into a good line with the target. The arm swing is short and he continues through the play in a direct line.

On the mound, Colleran uses a simple, balanced delivery to create good direction with home plate. He uses a side arm delivery off the mound that creates run on a fastball that sits 73-75 MPH. He also showed a big sweepy breaking ball at 60-62 MPH from that tough slot.

Colleran is a guy to get out and see. He’s a toolsy young prospect that has a chance to develop into a very good player.

Exit Velocity- 80 mph
INF Velocity- 68 mph

The 5-foot-7, 135 pound right-handed hitting infielder is a good looking young player.  At the plate, the set up is athletic and balanced.  The hands are off the back shoulders and create movement with the bat.  The load is short and gets him into a good position to hit.  I love the hand speed in his swing! The bat head whips through the zone on a flat plane and he stays through contact.  He also had a tee exit velocity of 75 mph and ran a 4.7 second home to first base.Defensively, the actions are silky.  His feet are active before the ball is hit and he drops into a good ready position.  Once the ball is hit, the feet are light as he breaks down into a good fielding position, with the glove relaxed out front.  The transition to the throwing position is good, in line with the target and showed 72 mph across the diamond. This is a talented young infielder.  If he continues to get stronger and develop, the sky’s the limit.

Tee Exit Velocity- 75 mph
INF Velocity- 72 mph
