8/17/16

Stocky left-handed pitcher that we have seen a number of times this year. Threw the ball well again at our event. The delivery is simple, leg lift and drives to the plate. There is a slight forward lean as he lifts the stride leg. The arm works well, as he has a short path on the backside. The fastball has arm-side run to it, sitting at 78 mph. The spin pitch will improve with more fastball hand speed to it, currently it sits at 65 mph. The slider showed good form, sitting at 67 mph. The changeup is coming along nicely, sitting at 65 mph.

6/28/16

Big bodied left-hander with a short arm path. The delivery is clean and he competes. Fastball touched 78 mph and showed a bigger breaking pitch at 68 mph. The changeup is 74 mph and has action to it. The delivery is off line, is the pull on the front part of the body is too hard, causing his direction to the catcher to be off. Would like to see him get that front shoulder pointed at this catcher at foot strike, that would help him tap into his full ability.

3/24/16
Big and physical left handed pitcher who pitches out of an easy 3/4 delivery. Body is big, thick and durable. He has a short arm swing on the back half and the extension out front is good. The fastball has arm side run to it, and showed good life. The fastball velocity sat at 77-79, touching 80 mph. The breaking pitch needs a little more fastball hand speed to it, but the shape of the pitch is done correctly, sitting at 65-66 mph. The changeup needs a spin adjustment but he throws it with good hand speed, sat at 69-70 mph.  Good looking prospect.
