5-foot-8, 145-pound, average, wiry strong athletic frame. The shoulders are sloped, neck is longer, has room to fill out and add mass. A two way player, top tool is his ability to defend at a high level. The hands, actions and flow are above average, gets in a real good position to field. The arm works out of a natural slot, was clocked at 74 mph, looks to have enough strength to stick at shortstop. The feeds and starts are quick and on time for the double plays, the backhand play was performed easily. Offensively, hits from the right side, front foot slightly open at shoulder width. The hands are loose, setup is at shoulder height, bat having tilt to it. The swing is flat across his chest, with the lower half under control and gaining ground with stride foot. The approach is more line drive spraying it to both fields. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 72 mph, and ran a 7.81. Off the mound, this right-hander has a simple easy delivery, gets to good gather, coil to the leg raise, lands slightly closed. The arm works out of a ¾ slot, gets good extension out front on release. The fastball was clocked at 74-77 mph, good sink, when down in the zone. The breaking ball is his top pitch, thrown for a strike, has depth and tilt to it, clocked at 67-69 mph, showed feel for the changeup. Potential to log innings out of the bullpen for some, strike throwing machine. Projects more for me as a position player, solid middle infielder, will defend at a high level, strength will aid in his development.
