John Nowicki: RHP/OF, (2024) out of St. Mary's Lynn, MA. is a 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed pitching prospect. On the mound, Nowicki uses a long, high ¾ arm slot to produce a lively, running fastball that sits 85-86 MPH(Max spin 2420; Avg 2279). The delivery is easy, direct and simple. 2/27/21

Nowicki is a 5-foot-10, 145 pound right-handed hitting two-way prospect. He hits out of a square stance, with the hands relaxed off the back shoulder. His load is short and allows him to get stacked over the back leg. The swing itself is simple, short and produced a 84 MPH exit velocity.

Defensively, Nowicki showed a strong arm from the outfield, recording a velocity of 86 MPH. His feet are athletic and works through the ball well. The ball exchange is clean and allows his long, loose arm to work freely. He finishes over his front leg, in line with his target.

On the mound, Nowicki works out of a modified stretch. His footwork is simple and allows him to get balanced over the rubber. He separates well at the top and creates good direction toward home plate. He uses a long, loose arm swing to deliver a fastball that sits 80-81 MPH, with late sink. The breaking ball is a good pitch, with good spin and a velocity of 65-69 MPH. He also mixed in a change-up at 70-72 MPH with good action and arm-speed.

Nowicki is a guy to keep an eye on this spring. There is definite arm talent on the mound, the swing is simple and produced a lot of solid line drives and he plays an athletic outfield.
