Ford is a 6-foot-1, 170 pound left-handed hitting two-way prospect. He hits out of a tall stance, with the weight stacked over his back leg. A leg lift starts the swing that travels through the hitting zone on a flat path. He recorded an exit velocity of 84 MPH during his batting practice, showing the ability to spray the ball.
Defensively, Ford was 77 MPH on his throws from the outfield. The footwork was a bit choppy as he worked to break down into the fielding position. His exchange is clean and uses a long arm-swing. He finishes over his front leg and maintains a good line with his target.
On the mound, Ford uses a simple delivery. Small steps guide him into his balance point, where he separates into a long, high arm-swing. The fastball sits 76-78 MPH with downward tilt. As he works down the mound, he creates good direction with home plate and consistent arm-speed on all his pitches. The breaking ball is a big 12-6 pitch that sits 66-68 MPH and shows the feel for a change-up.
