5-foot-9 and 180 pounds. The frame is strong and stocky, put together well. He was impressive on the mound showing a legit 4 pitch mix. He has compact and smooth mechanics and the arm is quick. He throws from the ¾ slot and hides the ball well. His back leg is stiff and could use more lower half when finishing, but tunnels the ball for all his pitches. The fastball was sitting 82-84 mph, topped out at 85 mph with some cut action to it. The curveball has a bigger break, sitting 67-69 mph, but came back with a wipe-out slider with high spin sitting 73-74 mph. The changeup was 72-73 mph and it played well off his slider and fastball. He’s a guy who has the stuff for the next level.
5-foot-9, 170-pound left-handed pitcher. This is the first time we are seeing Josh and he was impressive in his outing. The fastball touched 83 mph, good arm side run to the pitch. Showed good command of the fastball. The spin pitch is excellent, sitting 73-76 mph, sharp and late at times. The changeup is a developing pitch. The delivery has minimal crossfire to the feet and the slot is slightly above 3/4. The tracking of the front shoulder is done well, and the glove comes across the hitters face. Showed the ability to stay with his arm. Big follow in the 2021 class for me.
