Kalym Espaillat: C/1B, (2023) Snowden international, MA. 5-foot-11, 225-pound mature sturdy build. Above average at the plate, the right-handed hitter was ranked 2nd with an exit velocity of 94 mph. (61.16 mph bat speed average). (20.95 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced wide stance with a controlled load, then uses a short stride. Bat speed was above average, displayed an uphill loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. He found lots of barrels with loud contact. Aggressive approach. Behind the plate, his best recorded velocity during throw downs was clocked at 75 mph; shows soft developing hands, developing average feet, and a clean exchange. consistently had pop times of 2.00-2.03. Staggered calm setup with average flexibility. Showed consistent accuracy to the base with a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 8.4.  (Max spin ; Avg ).

Hit: (RHH) Above average. Begins in a balanced wide stance with a controlled load, then uses a short stride. Above average bat speed. Good extension on his finish, uphill loose swing. Aggressive approach. 

Power: 94 mph exit velocity, average 87.75 mph. 61.16 mph bat speed average. 20.95 mph hand speed average. Ranks #2 with ev at the event. 

Defense: (C) 2.00-2.03 pop times. Soft developing hands, developing average footwork, clean exchange. Projectable solid. Staggered calm setup with average flexibility. 

Arm: 75 mph catcher velocity. Loose arm action, high ¾ slot, consistent accuracy. 

Speed: 8.40 (60-yard).


5-foot-11, 230-pound right-handed hitting catcher and first baseman. The skill set behind the dish is solid, throwing 77 mph down to second base with a pop time of 2.02. The feet work and he shows a clean arm. The receiving can continue to improve as he matures in age. The bat has an exit velocity of 90 mph as there is strength in the swing. The setup is even in base and he uses a pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is long and strong through contact with the baseball.

5-foot-10, 210-pound, thick, strong physical frame, solid strength for his age. A right-handed hitting catcher, at the plate, starts wider, slightly open. The hands are loose, set higher, small controlled leg raise for timing. The swing is level through the zone, stays through the baseball, driving it to all fields. The finish is high with one hand, had a tee exit velocity of 80 mph, well above average for his age, looks to have present gap power. Defensively, moves well behind the plate, hands are strong on the catch, footwork will continue to quicken with reps and physical development. The arm is clean, works out of a ¾ slot, clocked at 74 mph with a pop time of 2.16-2.2. Overall conditioning is a must, will be interesting follow over the next few years.
