Hurley is a right-handed hitting catching prospect. He hits out of a wide, balanced stance. The load is minimal and the bat takes a flat, direct path through the hitting zone. Behind the plate, Hurley starts in a clean stance. The feet are slightly staggered, with the chest up and the glove centered in the middle of the chest. As he transitions to throw, the footwork is good. He gets the hips and shoulders in line with second and finishes over the front side. The arm swing is short and quick. He also had a vertical of 55.8 cm.
Kyle Hurley: C/2B, (2024) Newton North, MA. 5-foot-10, 155-pound lean athletic frame. Capable and athletic in the box, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 83 mph. (65.3 mph bat speed average). (20.2 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced wide stance with a small load, then uses a small stride. Had developing bat speed, flat level swing plane and level finish. He barreled up some balls with some loud contact. Line drive approach. While catching, he recorded a position velocity of 68 mph during throw downs; has developing soft hands, a clean natural transfer, and developing consistent feet. recorded a pop time of 2.15-2.20. Clean setup. Showed consistent accuracy to the base and a high ¾ slot. Clocked a time of 7.8 in the 60-yard dash.
