Ventola is a 5-foot-8, 166 pound right-handed hitting catcher/infielder. He hits out of a wide, slightly open stance, with the hands set just off the back shoulder. The swing begins with a leg lift, into a flat path through contact. Ventola showed a consistent line drive approach that yielded a max exit velocity of 80 MPH.

Behind the plate, he showed a velocity of 69 MPH and a pop times ranging 2.0-2.13 seconds. The initial set up is balanced, with his glove relaxed in the center of his chest. As he begins to transition to throw to second base, the footwork is quick, allowing him to get square to his target. The ball exchange is clean, with a short arm swing. He finishes through his throws, over his front leg.

In the infield, he was 75 MPH on his throws across the diamond. The feet and hands work well as he breaks down to work through the ground ball.
