Luc Nivaud: 3B/1B, (2023) Cohasset, MA. 6-foot, 190-pound athletic lean build. Projectable in the box, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 91 mph. (68.4 mph bat speed average). (17.6 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a small load, then used a small stride. Bat speed was developing, had an uphill loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. He found lots of barrels with loud contact. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Projectable showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 85 mph; showed a clean natural exchange, soft developing hands, and athletic developing feet. Hit: (RHH) Projectable. Started in a balanced athletic stance with a small load, then used a small stride. Developing bat speed. Good extension on his finish, uphill loose swing. Aggressive gap to gap approach. 

Power: 91 mph exit velocity, average 79.6 mph. 68.4 mph bat speed average. 17.6 mph hand speed average.

Defense:  (IF) Soft developing hands, athletic developing footwork, clean natural exchange. Projectable.  Laterally, movements were developing and fielded the ball out front. 

Arm: 85 mph infield velocity. Loose arm action, high ¾ slot, consistent accuracy. 

Nivaud is a strong framed 5-foot-11, 175 pound right-handed hitting catcher/infield prospect. He hits out of a wide stance, with the hands relaxed off the back shoulder. A leg lift stacks the weight over the back leg before the bat-head whips through the hitting zone on an uphill path. He stays balanced throughout the swing and finishes through contact.

In the infield, Nivaud was 79 MPH on his throws across the diamond. He moves well and showed good footwork prior to breaking down for the ground ball. He transitions well through the play, showing soft hands and a long arm-swing. 

Behind the plate, Nivaud had a pop time range of 2.0-2.25 seconds and a velocity of 72 MPH on his throws. His initial set up is good. The feet are square, with the glove relaxed in the center of the chest. As he begins to transition to throw, the feet are quick. His exchange is clean, allowing the arm to work freely. He has some recoil in his finish but showed consistent throws to second.
