9/26/20

6-foot-2, 160-pound left-handed hitting outfielder who showed very well for me at the event. He ran a 7.5 sixty at the event. The frame is lanky and long, he takes big strides as he runs. The approach in the outfield is online and athletic. He threw 63 mph from right field to the plate at the event. The arm strength could use the addition of an off-season throwing program. The bat has an exit velocity of 86 mph. The setup is wide in base and he uses a knee to knee approach on the bottom half as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The hands work free and clean producing a slightly uphill path to contact.

Baacke has an athletic 6-foot-2, 160 pound frame. The left-handed hitting outfielder had an exit velocity of 75 mph off the tee. He hits out of a wide, square stance, with the hands set just off the back shoulder. The load begins with a knee turn to shift the weight to the back leg. The lanky outfielder takes a flat path through the hitting zone and uses his long limbs to create good leverage. He extends well through contact and remains balanced throughout.

Defensively, he was 74 mph on his throws from the outfield.  The feet move well to get him into a balanced fielding position. The glove is relaxed just off the front foot. He transitions through the play and into the throwing position well, creating a good line with the throwing target. He extends through the play, with a long arm-swing.
