Owen Lane: LHP/OF, (2024) Canton, MA. 5-foot-8, 180-pound athletic solid build. Projectable and capable in the box, Lane had an exit velocity of 86 mph. (66.3 mph bat speed average). (19.4 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a small load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed was developing, displayed a level loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up multiple balls with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Projectable and capable from the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 77 mph; showed soft developing hands, developing consistent feet, and a clean natural exchange. Movements laterally were developing and he fields the ball out front. Used a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.7. Capable on the mound, shows a consistent arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with developing arm speed Up-tempo type pitcher and uses some effort. Showed consistent balance point with falling off shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Threw his fastball 72-74 mph; shows control arm side around the zone and running action. (Max spin 1791; Avg 1559). Had sweeping action and glove side around the zone control on his curveball (61-62). (Max spin 1927; Avg 1848). Shows arm side command and sinking action on his changeup (66-67).

5-foot-7, 170-pound left-handed hitting outfielder and left-handed pitcher. He ran a 8.1 sixty at the event. The approach in the outfield is appropriate and he works his feet through the fielding of the baseball. He threw 68 mph from right field to the plate. The bat has an exit velocity of 82 mph. The setup is even in base and he uses a pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is short and simple. He stays inside the ball. On the mound, the fastball sat 68-69 mph with arm side run. The spin pitch was 58-59 mph and big in shape. The changeup was 62-63 mph. The delivery is online with the feet and the slot is above 3/4 in height. The tempo is solid and he shows the ability to repeat the process. The tracking of the front shoulder can stay online longer. The arm works.
