He hits out of an athletic, square stance, with the hands low off the back shoulder. He uses a knee slide to get the weight to the back leg. The swing is flat to and through the hitting zone, staying on plane well through contact.

Defensively, he was 68 mph on his throws from behind the plate. The stance is balanced, square, with the glove centered in the chest. The feet are light as he transitions to the throwing position. He creates a direct line with the target, allowing the hips and shoulders to follow. The arm-swing is clean and he finishes over the front leg, with good direction.
