A plus defender at shortstop, he continues to show he can really play defense. Handles the pivot well, and the prep steps are good. Threw 77 mph across the infield with minimal effort. Ran a 4.7 down the line on the dig, which will need to improve. The bat has improved since the last time we saw him, tee exit velocity of 80 mph. Sets up with an open stance and even hands, bat resting on his shoulder. The path is in and out of the zone too quickly, flattening the path and plate coverage will help improve his contact point. A very good skill set as a defender, needs to run a bit better and get physically stronger to make the next jump.

He can throw, the glove is excellent with soft hands, arm path is simple as he flips the ball easily out of his hand. His footwork and prep steps are proper and handles the pivot very well. Threw 74 mph across the diamond and showed very good range to the middle of the field in the game. 60 time needs to improve as he ran a 7.50 but his frame and gait lead you to believe that may happen. The bat is loose and free, needs strength to the swing as he had a tee exit velocity of 78. The makings and tools to be a special defender at a high level.
