Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Sam Perron: 3B/RHP, (2024) Newton north, MA. 5-foot-10, 210-pound solid mature frame. Projectable in the box, Perron clocked an exit velocity of 89 mph. (68.1 mph bat speed average). (22.4 mph hand speed average). Began in an open narrow stance with a controlled load, then used a controlled stride. Had developing bat speed, uphill loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. He found lots of barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Capable in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 72 mph; shows developing consistent feet, developing soft hands, and a natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were developing. Showed a high ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the bag. Clocked a time of 8.1 in the 60-yard dash. Capable on the mound, had developing arm speed and threw from a high ¾ arm angle. Up-tempo type pitcher who uses some effort. In his delivery his balance point is tall with in line shoulders. Lands closed with recoil finish. Threw his fastball 73-74 mph; had control arm side around the zone and running action. (Max spin 1650; Avg 1561). His curveball (61-62) had sweeping action and glove side control. (Max spin 1275; Avg 1251). Has arm side control and fading some action on his changeup (66-67).

Perron is a big, physical right-handed hitting infield prospect. He hits out of a squatty, open stance. The hands are relaxed, just off the back shoulder. The bat takes a long, flat path through the hitting zone and produced a lot of solid contact during his rounds. Defensively, Perron showed uses his feet well to get into position to field. The glove is relaxed out front and showed soft hands. He works through the ball well and stays in line with his target. He also had a vertical of 52.3 cm.
