Sean Stephenson: 3B/OF, (2023) Canterbury, MA. James Madison Commit, 6-foot, 200-pound athletic solid build. Above average and projectable in the box, Stephenson had a max exit velocity of 100 mph. (66.9 mph bat speed average). (24.0 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced wide stance with a small load, then used a small stride. Bat speed is explosive and exhibits an uphill loose swing plane. He barreled up lots of balls with loud contact. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Capable while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 83 mph; has soft developing hands, a natural exchange, and developing consistent feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed consistent accuracy to the bag and a high ¾ slot. Clocked a 60 time of 7.09 at the event. (Max spin ; Avg ).
Future Games
5-foot-11, 180-pound left-handed hitting corner infielder. He had a very good 3 days in Dubois. He ran a 7.5 sixty at the event. The glove is solid at third base and he keeps the feet active during the process. I would like to see him work on moving side to side a bit better, which would help his defense. He threw 80 mph across the diamond as he has plenty of arm across the diamond. The bat has an exit velocity of 94 mph. The setup is narrow in base and the stance is upright. The front foot steps into the swing as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is clean to contact and has a feel for the barrel. The path is slightly uphill to contact and he made consistent contact throughout the 3 game set.

5-foot-11, 180-pound left-handed hitting corner infielder. I thought he showed well at the event as the bat plays. He ran a 7.38 sixty at the event. The approach in the infield is solid as the feet work and he showed soft hands. The arm has strength to it although it takes him too long to get rid of it , or it least it did this particular day. He threw 78 mph across the diamond during the infield portion of the workout. The bat has a chance to be special, exit velocity of 95 mph. The hands work freely and he stays under control throughout the process of hitting. The setup is even in base and teh back elbow is set high. The path is flat and gets uphill as he gets into contact. He displayed gap to gap power as the batting practice session went on. Solid prospect.
